Unity 101 Drivetime presenter Natalie Barrass has jetted off from Southampton to spend an exciting few months in India.

British born, avid Bollywood and Indian film fan, Natalie, is one of a number of Unity 101 volunteers who eagerly grasps opportunities with both hands and actively pursues their dreams. With such a passion for Indian films, Natalie knew that the place to be is India during its film festival season. Having attended a number of key events in the Indian Film and Bollywood calendars including the 2014 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Tempa Bay Florida, immersing herself in the film culture, meeting her film heroes and heroines and making great contacts and friends along the way, Natalie was determined to attend. She says, “The Mumbai Film Festival was fabulous – I watched some great films and made some superb contacts. Although I thought I’d have a break afterwards, I ended up unexpectedly getting involved in helping with PR & promotions for my friend Aadil Chahal 's movie, Roar - Tigers of the Sundarbans”.

As well as Mumbai, Natalie will be travelling to Goa for the annual International Film Festival of India, before heading over to Delhi, “I met the actor Adil Hussain when he was in Mumbai and he has agreed to spend time with me in Delhi for an interview!”

Natalie reports that she is having amazing time, “So far I’ve been partying with the arty & glitterati of Indian cinema. I met film stars like Gulshan Grover, Imran Khan, Varun Dhawan, Saurabh Shukla, Pitobash Tripathy from Million Dollar Arm and also Aamir Khan which was my total highlight! And I got to grab a quick question with Aamir Khan – him & Shahrukh Khan were my goals for this year so that’s both achieved! I’ve received such warmth and kindness from truly excellent people and received the feedback from those I’ve met – and the universe – that I’m on the right path.”

Whilst away on her travels, back in Southampton, Natalie has been missed as the host of the Drivetime show, but she plans to keep Unity 101 listeners up to date with her adventures with regular audio updates which will include exclusive interviews with some of the biggest names in Indian film, to be aired during the Drivetime show.

Tune in to Unity 101 Drivetime show, Monday – Friday from 4pm-6pm on 101.1FM.
