14 year old Youth 101 presenter & musical theatre fan Rishab Rajput had the privilege of interviewing Sam Edwards, the lead male in the show Wicked at the Mayflower Theatre as part of its UK tour.

If you’ve seen the movie, The Wizard of Oz, then it’s likely you’ll remember the characters, the Good Witch & the Wicked Witch of the West. Wicked tells the untold story of their unlikely but profound friendship whilst they were sorcery students and their extraordinary adventures in Oz which ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The stage production is packed with thrilling technical wizardry, stunning costumes and show-stopping songs, and Rishab agrees that it was an unforgettable experience. After seeing the show on opening night, he said, "It was amazing. I was gobsmacked by the performance".

Rishab’s excitement didn’t end there as he was lucky enough to interview Sam, questioning the stage star about everything from his journey into musical theatre, advice for young people wanting to get into musical theatre, his favourite theatre to perform in and his favourite shows.

The interview aired during the Youth 101 show on Sunday 9 November, you can listen to it here. podcast.canstream.co.uk/unity1...
