"First of all, we wish to thank each one of our many volunteers, supporters, listeners, advertisers, sponsors, and our partners from across the private, public, and voluntary sectors. These relationships have enabled us to go from strength to strength over the past ten years, to produce a high quality radio service on par with any commercial radio station.
We have always remembered the importance of community in community radio, and to this day, remain true to our motto of ‘for the community, to the community, by the community’.
Our collective dedication was recognised in 2012, when we were awarded the Queen’s Award for Volunteering for “promoting community cohesion via a multi-lingual broadcasting service.” We are privileged to serve, represent, and share the diversity of Southampton’s Asian, ethnic, and faith communities. Unity 101 will continue to aim to reach the wider community, and create a cohesive society."
