Home is the most important place in our lives, each one of us has many stories associated with home. Given how easy it's to travel nowadays, at times, we leave our family home to migrate to another county’s or even countries. Southampton is one of the most diverse cities in the UK and to celebrate it, Unity 101 Community Radio Station would like to invite you to their latest art exhibition. This time, the visitors will be able to learn about Poland and Polish culture.
As you walk in to the studio, you will be taken on a tour of Poland - starting in the south of Poland at Zakopane, where you will find Morskie Oko (a famous lake at the top of mountain of Kasprowy Wierch) before making the way up through the Poland to Mazury, north-west Poland. There is also a typical Polish house that you would find in that region of Poland, known in Polish as Chata.
The art is presented by two Polish artists; Ryszard Kosche and Damian Markowski. Both of who are Polish-born painters but since have swapped their home back in Poland for Southampton.
The exhibition reflects what Poland is like; colourful, full of charisma and shows-off some of the key Polish items - says Ram Kalyan “Kelly” Project and station manager Unity 101 Arts - During your visit to Unity Arts, you will discover and learn everything about Poland - from the mountains to the sea and lakes in the Northern Poland - says Ryszard Kosche.
"Home: Poland" is a free exhibition, open daily (Monday to Sunday) between 10am and 7pm and can be found at Unity 101 Community Station, 107 St Mary's Road, Southampton, SO14 0AN.
