Unity 101 FC presented football kit by Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Police Crime Commissioner

The Police and Crime Commissioner, Michael Lane, at West Quay shopping centre Southampton, the official Unity 101 football club kit, to Naz Azram, the manager, who was joined by Ray and Zac, who are two other players of the team during the Safer Together partnership event.

“Unity 101 football club was formed to give an opportunity to young men to play 11 a side football with a legacy of keeping them off the streets with a real target to achieve something special together.” Said Manager Naz Azram

The event also marked the Police and Crime Commissioner's first year in office. The event gathered over 20 partners who work with the commissioner's office to deliver and engage in reducing crime in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. There was a multitude of other services and attractions, which ranged from search dogs which were open to public petting, all the way to a TARDIS themed photo booth. You could also explore a working Hampshire Constabulary traffic police car, along with all its equipment and paraphernalia.

Ram Kalyan ‘Kelly’, Chairman and treasurer said “Bringing people together to share our beautiful game makes our community stronger with a common goal to be the best whatever our faith. Our thanks to Michael Lane, Police and Crime Commissioner of Hampshire and Isle of Wight for his donation towards our kit.”

Beyond attractions, there were informational booths and stands as well as police officers which you could question and ask about any concerns or worries you may have. The event gave visitors an insight into all the work that the Police and the Crime Commissioner is doing for the community, and, for the youth of today.
