A Radio Drama

In an innovative new project, Unity 101 is working with members of Newtown Youth Centre, Southampton, to create and broadcast a radio drama about hate crime.

The programme will be based around real experiences, and will look at hate crime from the point of view of victims and perpetrators. What are “Hate Crimes”? Why do people commit these offences? What can you do if you see or experience a crime? Why do people find it be hard to report crimes to the police?

The programme is being devised with the young people by professional theatre maker Anna Carr. Including original music, the programme offers a challenging insight into the experiences of young people.
