Oasis Academy Mayfield students on air with Unity 101

The secondary school, in Ashley Crescent, is the latest school to join our #StudentTakeover programme, a weekday slot where local schools and colleges takeover our airwaves. Ram Kalyan “Kelly”, Unity 101’s Station Manager, said: “From building the radio studio at the school, to training their staff and students in radio broadcasting, it’s great to finally have them on air. I’m really pleased with the students. They're doing really well and sound fantastic. “Having Oasis Academy Mayfield on board is a great addition to our talented team of local schools and colleges.” The school’s show airs on Thursdays from 2pm to 3pm and is packed with the latest chart music, school and local news, fun topics and entertainment. In one show the students even got to grill authority, when they interviewed Mr Price, the Assistant Principal.
