Kotlet Schabowy – Pork Cutlet
Kotlet Schabowy is a breaded pork chop. It is like the German schnitzel, but a little thicker. A typical Polish Pork cutlet is served with an assortment and array of accoutrements, such as mashed potatoes or boiled potatoes with dill, beetroots, salad, and a variety of other mouth watering treats.
The history of the Polish kotlet schabowy dates back to the 19th century (this predates the oldest recipe described in the most famous Polish cookbook The Compendium Ferculorum, which was created and compiled in 1682) when it was found in a cookbook by Lucyna Cwierczakiewiczowa.
