Unity 101 nominated for a National Diversity Award

Unity 101 would like to thank the mystery person who nominated us for the National Diversity Award for Community Organisation for Race/Faith/Religion.

The nomination has set the ball rolling for the race to be crowned this year’s NDA Community Organisation for Race/Faith/Religion. This much-coveted Award recognises diverse organisations across the UK who work tirelessly to promote unity across the areas of race, faith and/or religion.

The next stage is to reach the NDA’s short-list so Unity 101 is calling for all our volunteers, supporters, partners and friends to vote for us to win.

Please vote via the link nominate.nationaldiversityawar…. It will only take a few minutes.

Unity 101 strives to promote unity and community cohesion across Southampton and, in 2012, our efforts were recognised at the highest level when we were given the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for “promoting community cohesion via a multilingual broadcasting service”.

This isn’t the first time Unity 101 has been nominated for the National Diversity Award. Last year, after tremendous community support, we reached the final. The Award went to the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT), a highly deserving winner, a voluntary charity who tirelessly campaign to increase the number of Black and Asian donors on the UK bone marrow, blood donation and organ donor registers.

This year, will we be crowned the NDA Community Organisation for Race/Faith/Religion? Please vote for us now.
